The South Bruce OPP advise with students out of school for summer break this week police would like to see them enjoy the summer months safely.

When school is out, they expect an increase in the amount of pedestrian traffic on scooters, rollerblades, skateboards and bicycles on area streets and sidewalks.

With parents & caregivers still going to work, acceptable internet usage and water safety are also things to think about.

They advise drivers to slow down and drive with care, use crosswalks or intersections to cross streets safely, wear bicycle helmets where required by law as they reduce head injuries as much as 85%, ensure swimmers are properly supervised, and follow what your children do online.
