Southampton Businesses vandalized for 2nd Time in Less than 2 Weeks

28-year-old faces charges of mischief, causing a disturbance, trespassing, and assault while resisting arrest after breaking windows at Duffy's Fish & Chips on July 21st. Previous incident in Southampton was July 11th.

Saugeen Shores Police were called to Duffy’s Fish and Chips in Southampton on Friday, July 21st on reports of an unwanted person.

Dispatchers advised they could hear glass breaking while they were taking the call.

Police arrived on scene around 12:35 am and the suspect fled on foot.

Officers made pursuit through backyards and over fences.

The suspect resisted arrest when police apprehended them and a taser was used.

The suspect was taken to Southampton hospital for treatment to his arms and hands, which were a result of them breaking several windows at the local establishment.

The 28-year-old faces charges of mischief, causing a disturbance, trespassing, and assault while resisting arrest.

This is the second time the accused has broken windows a business in Southampton with the previous incident on July 11th.
