The Saugeen Shores Police and Grey Bruce OPP are undertaking a join investigation following the discovery of bones by a citizen on Thursday at the Southampton compost site located on Concession 14 in Saugeen Shores.
Members of the public will see an increased police presence in the area at 162 Concession 14 in Saugeen Shores and Bruce Road 13 in Sauble Beach while police conduct their investigation.
They ask everyone to avoid the areas.
An anthropologist will attend the scene to determine the age of the bones and origin.
Police say there is no concern for public safety.
It is the early stage of the investigation.
