Huron-Bruce MPP Lisa Thompson recognized Martino Catalano of Foodland in Southampton with a Silver Award for his store’s creativity in building produce displays that demonstrate an outstanding commitment to Ontario local food industry.
For over 35 years, the Foodland Ontario Retailer Awards have celebrated the creative expression of produce managers and staff for their unique & innovative display that promotes locally grown food.
It runs between January and November and includes 4 categories of displays that retailers can enter to showcase their efforts to promote in-season, Ontario grown fruits and vegetables.
Huron-Bruce MPP Thompson who is also the Minster of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs says that retailers put Ontario produce into the hands of community members, and for that they’re very appreciative.
