The Southampton Rotary Club was involved in a landmark signing this morning at GC Huston Public School.
Club President Dave Bertrand and School Principal Hugh Morrison signed a Memorandum of Understanding to embark on an ambitious project to build an inclusive school playground that will benefit all students regardless of abilities.
The estimated cost of the project is around $115,000 with the school already having funds in reserve of around $30,000.
With the Rotary’s participation they working to bridge the remaining $85,000.
The project would see a state-of-the-art playground structure created with students able to swing, climb and have fun being active for years to come.
Upcoming fundraisers for the project include proceeds from the Club’s “Fund in Need” at the Annual Dinner at the Walker House on Saturday, October 28th.
