The owner of the miniature steam locomotive that use to run on the old North Shore Railway in Port Elgin is hoping he can get it up and running again.

Scott Pearson made a presentation to Saugeen Shores Council at last Monday’s  Committee of the Whole meeting.

He says there is support out there from those who want the iconic train on the tracks again.

Pearson says his proposal would also incorporate pieces of history of the railway in Bruce County.

The Town had indicated that they are holding consultations over the summer on changes to the park.

They say that would include revitalizing the North Shore Railway.
