The season has started for those looking at running in the municipal election to put their names forward and there’s a hat in the race for the next Mayor of Goderich.
Steve Buchanan has become the first to register as candidate for Mayor in the October election.
Buchanan spent his early years and 20’s growing up in Colborne Township just north of Goderich who’s been well involved in the community.
He was appointed to the Goderich Recreation and Community Centre Board from 1982-83, the Huron Tourism Association in 2015-18 and the Huron Chamber of Commerce 2017-2022
Buchanan says he’s loved the town his entire life and no matter what the adventures he’s been on, is always honoured to say he’s from Goderich.
