Stolen minivan prompts OPP reminder: Keep your keys on you

A 2009 Toyota Sienna minivan was stolen out of a Centralia laneway sometime between 11 p.m. on Wednesday and 7 a.m. Thursday morning

Huron County OPP is reminding drivers to lock up and secure their ignition key when leaving a vehicle unoccupied, after an opportunistic theft of an automobile.

Yesterday, officers responded to a farm property located on Crediton Road near Centralia to investigate the theft. The owner had their grey, 2009 Toyota Sienna minivan stolen out of the laneway sometime between 11 p.m. on Wednesday (August 3) and 7 a.m. Thursday morning.

The victim reported the vehicle had been left unlocked with the ignition key left inside the vehicle.

The value of the stolen vehicle is estimated to be around $9,000.
