Stratford-Bruce Peninsula unemployment rate increases in July

At 4.3%, it's still tied for the third-lowest rate in the province

The unemployment rate for the Stratford-Bruce Peninsula Economic Region increased by 0.3 percentage points in July, to 4.3, tying the region for third in Ontario

The provincial unemployment rate increased by 0.1 percentage points to 5.5%, both unadjusted for seasonality.

According to the most recent report from the Four County Labour Market Planning Board, overall net employment in the region increased by 2,900, with +6,500 full-time jobs gained and -3,600 part-time losses.

The main driving force came from gains in Construction (+1,300) and Agriculture (+700) while Utilities experienced the biggest loss (-900).
