The Society of Professional Engineers and Associates unanimously endorsed a tentative agreement Monday evening that ended a strike by union members working for the nuclear division of SNC Lavalin Group Inc.
The week-long strike, which began on May 29th, was ended when the agreement that was reached last Friday.
SNC-Lavalin’s Candu Energy Inc and its workers had been in a labour dispute for several weeks.
Last week OPG and Bruce Power sent a letter to both parties urging them to resolve ongoing discussions with the highest urgency and immediately resume work.
The two cited the labour stoppage leading to a sudden withdrawal of key supports for some operations.
