This week from March 19th to 25th is National Impaired Driving Prevention Week.
It is the week when governments, Public Safety Canada, law enforcement and community organizations work to raise awareness of the risks and consequences of impaired driving.
Impaired driving, whether by alcohol or drugs, continues to kill or injure more Canadians than any other crime.
It also remains the single most important factor contributing to serious road crashes.
A recent statistic shows the number of police-reported drug-impaired incidents has increased 43 percent from 2019 to 2020 alone.
