This week is Local Food Week June 5th to 11th. It’s a time to re cognize and celebrate the bounty of fresh, health foods grown, produced and processed in Ontario.
Huron-Bruce MPP and Minister of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs for Ontario Lisa Thompson provides some details of their impact.
“When you choose Ontario grown & produced foods your individual purchases are supporting Ontario Farmers. They are strengthening our supply chains and your purchases are contributing to Ontario’s economy.”
In Ontario, farmers & food processors support more than 200 commodities and generate more than $47 billion dollars in GDP for the Provincial Economy on an annual basis.
