Two local businesses in Huron-Kinloss have made a generous donation towards the Ripley-Huron Fire Department and it’s 26 volunteer firefighters.
Station 150 received portable first aid kits and an automatic defibrillator from Baywood Interior Millwork in Kitchener and Amberly Pork & Grain.
Ripley-Huron Fire Chief Chris Cleave said of the donation that the tools, added to their already existing equipment is a huge bonus adding the AED makes it possible for them to better respond to medical emergencies.
The Ripley-Huron Fire Department serves the areas of Ripley, the Lakeshore communities and the former Huron Township.
They also supply support to the Lucknow & District and Kinkardine Fire Departments under a Mutual Aid Agreement.
