Thanks to year end giving from area residents, businesses and organizations the United Way of Bruce Grey say they are in a much better position heading into 2024 than previously.

Before the end of the year United Way made an urgent appeal for support who were hit with a deficit due to a demand for programs.

Executive Director Francesca Dobbyn provides an update on the results from recent generosity.

“We’re still putting our ducks in a row and counting our chickens but it looks like we’ll be in the positive. I know our board will meet at the end of the January for the first meeting of 2024 we’ll be able to make some really positive decisions” said Dobbyn

One fact that people might not be aware of is the fact that the United Way isn’t funded at all by the government.
