Growing up, music was never far from his reach—even if mastery of it always seemed just out of range.
One of his favorite childhood photos captures him proudly holding a well-worn Stella guitar, oversized in his small hands, with the determined expression of someone absolutely convinced he was destined for the stage. The reality, however, was a little different.
He could strum a few chords, stumble through the beginnings of familiar songs, and make enough noise to convince the neighbors that practice was happening, but true musical talent remained elusive.
Still, that never diminished his love for music itself. Long before he ever stepped behind a microphone, he was the kid memorizing lyrics, studying radio personalities, and falling in love with the stories songs could tell.
While he may never have become the guitar hero he imagined as a boy, that same passion eventually found its home in broadcasting.
Today, his appreciation for music, personalities, and storytelling shines through every show he hosts.
The Stella guitar may not have launched a recording career, but it helped spark a lifelong connection to sound, entertainment, and the magic of radio.
