Due to water damage at the lower level of the municipal office, Huron-Kinloss Township is renting a space in the old RBC building in Ripley.
The water damage was caused by a sump pump failure according to CAO Jodi MacArthur.
While the fix will take around three months, all township services will operate from the main office with no impact to the public.
MacArthur in her report to council on March 17th says the damage was discovered March 6th with staff moving to protect the building contents and remove as much water as they could but work stations in the lower level were impacted.
Insurance coverage is expected to take care of the loss subject to the deductible.
