Joe and Heidi Carter have picked up the pieces from the previous Wingham Homecoming 2024 Committee and both are looking to form a pure community based event utilizing the entire town for next year.

No events have been confirmed but ideas shot around at a meeting on April 13th which included holding a dance for both adults and kids, various decorating contests, slo pitch tournament, a parade as well as selling Homecoming merchandise.

Joe Carter says from the survey they launched last month, it was obvious the community wants to move forward.

“We had 86 respondents, the majority would like to see Homecoming 2024 and a 150th anniversary in 2029.” said Carter.

Planning is still in its early stages, another meeting is planned on May 11th at the Wingham Legion.
