A closure at the Wingham & District Hospital emergency department has hit earlier than expected.
The ED has closed as of 6:30 this morning instead of the planned 5pm closure and will stay closed until 7pm on Sunday.
The Listowel Wingham Hospital Alliance says they understand how disappointing the extended closure is on the community as well as to their staff & physicians but add the staffing situation is expected to improve throughout August.
EMS remains available to the community and re-route them to surrounding hospitals.
