Wingham traffic stop turns up methamphetamine, steroids

Two people have been charged with possession after a traffic stop in Wingham by Huron County OPP this weekend.

On Sunday, Oct. 2 at around 7:45 p.m., an officer initiated a traffic stop on Victoria St. It was revealed the driver’s license was suspended. After learning of this information the officer then arrested the driver and searched the vehicle.

Officers were able to locate drug paraphernalia, trafficking materials, suspected anabolic steroids and currency.

A further search also found the passenger to be in possession of suspected methamphetamine.

The 41-year-old driver of Durham and 36-year-old of Mildway were both charged with Possession of a Schedule 1 Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking and Possession of a Schedule IV Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking.

Both will appear in Goderich court on Nov. 21.
