Women’s House preparing for International Women’s Day Celebration March 10th

2 Awards set to be announced there include Woman of Distinction & Young Woman of Distinction Awards. Nominations open until Feb 13th at 4pm.

Women’s House serving Bruce & Grey is partnering with the County of Bruce’s Business to Bruce to hold its annual International Women’s Day Celebration on Friday, March 10th.

The plans are still yet to be finalized but they say they will continue to include a virtual Silent Auction open for the week prior to the event.

Women’s House is looking for the public’s input for 2 awards set to be announced at the event; the Woman of Distinction Award and the  Young Woman of Distinction Award.

Nominators are encouraged to submit a 200 word biography or outlining why this person should be recognized, along with a nomination form.

The nominee must be:

  • a resident of Bruce or Grey County
  • provides inspiration or motivation to others
  • recognized as a positive role model through example, mentoring or education
  • consistently displays leadership qualities
  • promotes & support equality, improved opportunities & choice in the community
  • demonstrates vision, innovation or creativity and the courage to take risks
  • advocates for positive change in society through the impact of her activities

 

  • For the Young Women of Distinction Award they must be a young women, still in school and under the age of majority.

Nominations are accepted until February 13th at 4pm.
