Working smoke alarms helped keep damage limited in a blaze in Saugeen Shores.
On June 30th, Saugeen Fire and Emergency Services were called to a structure fire within their protection area.
Crews arrived to find signs of a fire which was contained to a single bedroom area with working smoke alarms alerted those inside.
The homeowner was able to act and use a working fire extinguisher and applied to the spreading flames keeping it to just minor damages.
Saugeen Fire says its clear the fire was only seconds away from spreading uncontrollably adding its clear that working smoke alarms save lives.
