Young Canada Week starts with celebration of Goderich legends

March 10 will be a recognition ceremony of local NHLers and some major trophies will also be there

Goderich hockey legends will be honoured at the town’s annual Young Canada Week, and there will be some major hardware on display as well.

A recognition ceremony will kick off the week on March 10 and will honour former Goderich pros who have all passed on: Larry Jeffrey, Gary Doak, Jack Price and Al Dewsbury.

There will also be NHL trophies on display like the Conn Smyth Award and the Frank. J Selke Trophy. You can take photos with them from 2 to 8 p.m.

The 72nd Annual Young Canada Week runs at the Maitland Recreation Centre from March 10 to 18.

They are welcoming 44 teams from across three divisions – U13, U15 and U18.
