9 Saved After Canoes Capsize Near Denny’s Dam

9 people have been rescued from the area of Denny’s Dam from over the weekend.

On June 28th at around 4:43pm, Saugeen Shores Police and emergency services were called to the area of Denny’s Dam for a report of canoes capsized and stuck in netting at the top of the dam.

Saugeen Shores Police, Fire and Paramedics responded to the area and entered the water to rescue 9 people who were trapped.

No injuries were sustained during this incident and everyone was safely brought back to shore.

Saugeen Shores Police say alcohol and water do not mix and that you should not drink while out on the river as disaster can happen in an instant.
