Bicycle Thief resists arrest in Goderich

Victim had their BMX stolen out of the back of a pickup truck parked on Bennett Street East

A resident of Goderich is facing a number of charges including resisting arrest following an incident that took place there earlier this week.

On October 26th just after midnight officers received a report from a victim whose BMX bicycle was stolen off the back of a pickup truck parked on Bennet Street East.

The victim and a witness were able to follow the accused and police were called to assist.

On arrival the officers attempted to place the accused under arrest however the accused resisted. Police were able to gain control and he was taken into custody.

A 31 year old of Goderich is charged with theft under $5,000, resisting arrest and 5 counts of failure to comply with a probation order.

He remains in custody with a court appearance scheduled for October 29th in a Goderich Court.
