A ribbon-cutting ceremony was held in Port Elgin to welcome another Bruce Power supplier.

Westinghouse Canada officially opened an office Thursday on Goderich Street south of the Walmart plaza.

There are currently 10 full-time people working in the office with the capacity for 10 more staff.

Westinghouse will be tasked to manage Bruce Power drawdown contracts, onsite presence and logistics, and will provide project management in supporting all Bruce Power contracts.

Westinghouse joins other suppliers and contractors in the Clean Energy Region.

In a news release, Nuclear Innovation Institute President and CEO Bruce Wallace says the decision by Westinghouse to open an office in Bruce County underscores how important the nuclear industry is to the economy and the environment.
