Some changes are being made to the Township of North Huron’s flag policy.

It will now include a statement outlining reasons for refusing to fly flags of groups or organizations that don’t meet the standards set by the Township.

They include ones from groups that promote hatred, violence, or racism, or are politically or religiously motivated.

The policy will apply to flags flown and displayed at municipal facilities.

The move comes after the Township were criticized for not having the Pride flag raised at the municipal offices.
