The Multicultural Society of Perth-Huron is inviting residents of Kincardine out to a Barbecue in the Park this Sunday, July 17th.
The purpose of the event is to welcome refugees from Ukraine who are now calling the area home.
Lydia Ritchie, who is helping organize the event tells us some background on its purpose.
“We are just looking to welcome refugees into our community. We’ve had a couple of families land this week.”
The event will be in Victoria Park from 5 until 7pm on Sunday.
There will be music from the Pairs and the barbeque is being put on by the Kincardine & District Lions Club.
There will also be a few speakers as well of their experiences in Ukraine.
Donations are gratefully being accepted with tax receipts available.
