A charity golf event in support of a Kincardine man’s movement raised over $20,000 last week for mental health resources.

The second annual McFadden’s Movement Celebrity Charity Classic was held in Guelph July 25, surpassing the amount raised in their inaugural year by almost $2,000.

Started by Kincardinite and former Guelph Storm player Garret McFadden, the movement aims to raise awareness for those struggling with mental health issues.

Since it’s inception, they have raised over $80,000 in support of groups like the Canadian Mental Health Association.

McFadden was honoured by Hockey Canada for his charity work last year.
