Local Kincardine Native named Hockey Canada Community Champion

Kincardine native Garrett McFadden was recognized by Hockey Canada as a Community Champion recently for his work with his charitable foundation “McFadden’s Movement”.

The campaign presenting in cooperation with Scotia Bank recognizes Canadians who are making a significant impact on the game.

McFadden started “McFadden’s Movement” back in 2016 to grow mental health awareness as a then member of the Guelph Storm. Now he continues the initiative at Acadia University in Nova Scotia.

Garrett was presented with a Hockey Canada sweater and a Scotiabank prize presentation at the Home Opener for the Axemen on October 8th.
