A young author with deep ties to the Kincardine area recently released a book this summer that is sure to keep readers on the edge of their seat.

Hannah Grieve, published her first novel this July, entitled the Secret of Markie Beach.

Grieve says her family has lots of history in the area: her great-great grandfather Big Tom MacGaw Sr. was the lighthouse keeper, taking part in the rescue of the crew of the Ann Maria, when the vessel crashed in 1902.

Kincardine influenced the setting of much of her novel, as do tidbits of history she’s learned about the region from family.
