The Town of Saugeen Shores announced yesterday that the Cedar Crescent Village project has passed another milestone towards its completion.

At Monday’s council meeting the lands for the project were declared surplus in order to register the approved land lease.

The final by-law is set to be approved at the October 11th meeting.

The Cedar Crescent Village is set to provide a facility on Port Elgin’s beach for tourism and recreation related businesses to serve the community.

The project is a private venture, with the leased public land meaning the Town retains control of the overall quality & character of the project, integration with the Waterfront Master Plan, impact on parking & traffic, sustainability and enforcement of any by-laws, federal or provincial laws.

The full details of the decision can be viewed at the Town of Saugeen Shores website at the link below.
