With the recent arrival of winter weather to the area the Kincardine Fire & Emergency Services took the opportunity to share the differences between Weather advisories, watches and warnings.
They say an advisory is a heads up on weather that could be on the way to plan accordingly.
A watch is issued when conditions are favourable for a severe weather event, meaning the elements are there to be aware of but nothing has happened yet.
Finally, a warning is issued when severe weather is imminent or incoming.
They say being prepared with a 72-hour emergency kit, monitoring local media and more can keep you be prepared.
