The Saugeen Shores Police have charged a 39-year-old of South Bruce Peninsula after a fail to remain collision on Union Lane Monday morning.

Officers were called to the scene around 8am where reports indicate a driver had left the roadway and collided with several trees and a fence on a nearby property.

The vehicle was no longer at the scene but had left behind several pieces of debris.

Police attended a local body shop to check on vehicles with similar damage.

Police were able to confirm a match by checking the debris left at the scene with a vehicle left for repairs.

As a result, the driver faces charges of failing to report an accident.
