Province spending nearly $250,000 to enhance Electrician Apprenticeships at Georgian College

It will go toward purchase of modern electromechanical trainer stations & equipment to provide classroom experience for 3 levels of Electrician Construction & Industrial Electrician program.

The Province is investing $245,000 to enhance apprenticeship training at Georgian College that will help more people in Bruce-Grey-Owen Sound get the skills to prepare them for meaningful and well-paying careers in in-demand industries.

Bruce-Grey-Owen Sound MPP Rick Byers says the funding will go toward the purchase of modern electromechanical trainer stations and equipment to provide the classroom experience for three levels of the Electrician Construction and Industrial Electrician program.

The funding is part of a larger Ministry of Labour $24 million dollar investment in the Apprenticeship Capital Grant program, which helps improve & modernize equipment and facilities that support hands-on learning.
