Given the continued heat and dry conditions across the area, Saugeen Shores residents are being urged to reduce their water usage.

Lawn watering is one of the highest contributors to residential water use during the summer months and to help ease the demand on the municipal water system, residents are asked to limit or temporarily pause lawn watering and other high consumption activities such as car washing, pressure washing or filling pools.

The town says the best tips to follow include cutting water time by 30 per cent, turn off automatic sprinklers when rain is happening or forecasted to to keep grass longer to protect roots and reduce watering needs.
