It’s another cryptoscam affecting a local in Midwestern Ontario who’s out $130,000.
On August 30th Huron County OPP were contacted by a 55 year old of Central Huron who reported losing the funds in an investment scam between June-August.
The victim says they responded to an online ad who believed their money was being invested in stocks and in crypto.
The victim was promised a high return but became suspicious when more money was demanded. In late August the victim realized they had been scammed and called police.
The Canadian Anti-Fraud Centre says last year a total of $647 million was lost by Canadian victims in scams.
