Saugeen Shores Police are reminding residents to be alert after one person has lost thousands of dollars to a scam.
Police say the victim was contacted by someone pretending to be from their bank saying they needed help with an internal investigation, requesting the victim to purchase and deposit bitcoin into an unknown wallet.
Police say if you ever receive a call from someone and asks you to purchase gift cards or bitcoin to not go forward with the request to avoid being the next victim.
