Grey Highlands and Emergency Services is getting a boost for a combination smoke and carbon monoxide alarms, coming at time when new regulations for homeowners and landlords came in to start the year.

The Fire Marshal’s Public Fire Safety council has donated 150 alarms with a partnership with Enbridge Gas.

The new regulations which took effect January 1st now require every storey of a home to be equipped with a CO alarm, including storeys which don’t have a sleeping area.

The partnership has seen multiple fire departments receive these alarms to give out to the community, free of charge.
