Bruce County continues to remind residents to always be prepared for emergencies but also to not forget about livestock when doing such planning.
The County in a release stating when building your emergency plan to think three key scenarios, sheltering in place, evacuating with animals and evacuating without animals.
When it comes to sheltering in place, animals need access to plenty of food and water wherever they are located and water access should not relying on electricity as power outages can be common during emergencies.
The county adds its best to have arrangements in place for your animals before an emergency occurs.
