South Bruce OPP are warning residents of scams where people are impersonating local fire departments.
In this scam, residents have reported getting phone calls from someone claiming to be from a local fire department.
Police say the call display could come off as a legitimate phone number and scammers use the names of local fire departments asking for donations to cover the cost of fundraisers, training or equipment.
At this time two incidents have been reported within the South Bruce OPP area.
Members of your local fire department generally hold in person fundraisers and public events and will never ask for funds over the phone.
