A total of 39 recommendations are being made to improve environmental sustainability in Saugeen Shores.

The Town’s Environmental Stewardship Ad-Hoc Committee delivered a report to Council on Monday.

Councillor and ad-hoc committee chair Cheryl Grace says the biggest recommendation in the report has to deal with climate change.

Grace says the report also prioritizes what recommendations are achievable in the short-term.

She says acknowledging that a climate emergency exists and adopting the United Nations sustainability goal are not just symbolic gestures but shows that the Town is committed to a climate action plan.

Grace says Mayor Luke Charbonneau announced an implementation committee will be formed to go over the report and what can do done quickly.
