The County of Huron says it is taking action to address the needs for more affordable housing locally with the recently approved project for 39 apartment units on Gibbons Street in Goderich.

The County says the development will fill a much-needed gap in the County’s housing inventory. It will offer a range of 1-bedroom units including affordable, rent-geared-to-income and supportive units.

County Warden Glen McNeil says the development represents a collaborative effort that he says will make a meaningful difference in the community.

The project has a capital cost of $20.4 million dollars and is estimated to take 24-30 months to build.
