It is usually a good idea to have a designated driver BEFORE making the trip home.

A Perth County OPP officer noticed a vehicle pull into a driveway on Perth Road 140 in North Perth Sunday afternoon around 4, and saw a driver and passenger switch seats putting the passenger behind the wheel.

The vehicle then pulled out of the driveway and it continued on the road when the officer made a traffic stop.

An investigation determined that the person that had previously been in the driver’s seat was impaired by drugs.

In addition, the one who switched seats did not have a valid driver’s license

A 42-year-old and a 41-year-old, both from the Wellington North area, are facing charges.

The 41-year-old’s driver’s license was suspended for 90 days and the vehicle was impounded for a week.
