Bruce County’s Transportation and Environmental Services department is working on two Alternate Truck Routes starting today related to the Durham Street Bridge in Walkerton.
The ATR’s will help for continued movement for truck traffic during a bridge weight restriction period on the Durham Street Bridge will be in place until the repairs are made to the bridge.
The weight limit in effect would be a 3 level load limit which differentiates various heavy truck types by the number of axles on the truck or trailers and permit a maximum vehicle weight.
Advanced warning signs for the ATR’s will be place ahead of the bridge to divert heavy truck traffic from passing over the bridge.
