While originally planned last month, the event was pushed to June due to poor weather. The annual cancer research fundraiser which was hosted by the Kincardine District Senior School Student Council Committee.
Molly Rutledge, Event Organizer for Relay for Life says they had much to celebrate as they went beyond their fundraising goal.
“Our goal was $15,000 but we raised $20,000 so we’re pretty happy with that. We have all of our students here to walk the track in honour of cancer survivors and the people battling cancer right now.” said Rutledge.
Rutledge gave some special recognition to Cameron Barry who helps run student council as well as helped organize Relay for Life.
