A lot of money was raised for Big Brothers Big Sisters Kincardine and District during the Holiday Giving campaign.

Executive Director Yolanda Reitsma says their goal was $5,000 and $10,486 was raised.

The total includes a donation from Maitland Welding and Machining in Wingham who pledged to match every dollar donated up to $5,000.

Reitsma says the money will be used towards their mentorship programs with a strong emphasis on their in-school program.

There are virtual mentoring information sessions taking place Monday and Wednesday, at 2 PM and 7 PM both days.

Reitsma says this will give visitors an opportunity to see what being a mentor is like, and whether or not it is right for them.
