A black bear sighting in the Bluewater area has led the municipality to issue out a statement.
While uncommon the municipality says every once win a while they hear reports of bear sightings in the area.
Staff say the best way to reduce attracting bears to your area includes putting garbage in containers with tight lids, washing containers regularly to reduce odours and put out your garbage for collection the morning of and not the night before.
If a bear poses an immediate threat to personal safety or is exhibiting threatening or aggressive behavior you’re asked to call 911.
