Bluewater Board holds Rainbow Conference at Education Centre in Chesley

The Bluewater District School Board hosted the Rainbow Conference at its Education Centre in Chesley on Monday.

The event saw students attend from several secondary schools to take part in two workshops including “Beyond the Binary: Navigating Neopronouns”, “From Scream Queens to Stonewall to Toronto Pride” and “2-Spiritied People in Indigenous Culture”.

There was also a keynote speech by Kit Boulter, a trans nonbinary performer & advocate for theatre and social justice.

During the afternoon they heard from special guest & singer Dr. Kael Reid from York University.

The event was an inspiring, energetic and liberating opportunity for students to connect & engage in a safe and inclusive space.

They hope to hold the event yearly.
