Border Crossings Reopen Except for Rainbow Bridge

The FBI says an explosion at the Rainbow Bridge in Niagara Falls is not linked to terrorism following investigation.

FBI Buffalo says a search of the scene revealed no explosive materials and no terrorism nexus was identified.

International border crossings into the United States from Niagara have reopened with the exception of the Rainbow Bridge following a vehicle explosion at the border.

The FBI confirmed the incident which saw a large plume of smoke into the sky over the falls at the Rainbow Bridge before noon.

Witness reported a large ball of flames and a massive plume of smoke seen over the Niagara River.

Niagara police have confirmed the incident took place on the American side of the bridge.

Two people have died from the incident.
