The Municipality of Brockton is honouring the service and contributions by Deputy Chief Glen Wilhelm of the Walkerton Fire Department who will be retiring from his role as Deputy Chief as of July 1st.
Following his retirement, Glen will support the department in the honorary role of Deputy Chief Emeritus. Council has approved the restructuring of the Deputy Chief position will start the recruitment process.
Glen is said to play an advisory role and help with the transition of the new full time Deputy Chief.
Chris Wells, Director of Fire and Emergency Services says Glen’s leadership has shaped generations of firefighters and his dedication to public safety has made a lasting impact on the community.
